4th edition of the Chef of the year contest

Chef Víctor Rodrigo (rte. ‘Samsha’, Valencia), was named the winner of the IV Chef of the Year Contest. In second place was Juan Carlos Padrón (‘El Rincón de Juan Carlos’, Los Gigantes, Tenerife) and third was Javier Estévez (rte. `Mesón Doña Filo’, Colmenar del Arroyo, Madrid). Chef Victor Rodrigo of restaurant ‘Samsha’ (Valencia), was proclaimed the winner at the National Finals of Chef of the Year Contest (CYC) in an exciting culinary event held in Barcelona, inside BCNVanguardia International Gastronomy Congress of Alimentaria. In addition to the winner, the following chefs also competed in this event: Juan Jiménez (rte.‘Hotel Arts’, Barcelona), Juan Carlos Padrón (rte.‘El Rincón of Juan Carlos’, Tenerife), Marco Varela (rte.‘Dona Branca’, Lugo), Sergio Bastard (rte.‘Restaurante by Sergio Bastard’, Bilbao) and Javier Estévez (rte.‘Mesón of Doña Filo’, Madrid). This fourth edition began its journey in Murcia on november 17, 2010 celebrating its first semifinal of this edition and the last one on january 24, 2012, in Madrid, inside Madrid Fusión gastronomy congress. In total there were almost two years of work, 14.000 km traveled, six cities, more than 1000 aspiring competitors, 60 semifinalists, 240 recipes, 72 members of the jury and of course 6 finalists.
