Martin Berasategui

Martin Berasategui began his professional career in 1973 at the family restaurant Bodegón Alejandro in the old part of San Sebastian, taking control of the kitchen in 1981 and obtaining his first Michelin star in 1986. In 1993, Martin opened the restaurant in Lasarte-Oria Berasategui receiving the first Michelin star that same year. After three years in 1996 obtained the second Michelin star and is awarded Mejor Cocinero Español by the Academia Española de Gastronomía and the Cofradía de la Buena Mesa.

In 1997 she won the Grand Prix del Arte de la Cocina, awarded to the chef with greatest global projection, by the International Academy of Gastronomy, in Beirut.

In 2001 he obtained his third Michelin star and is also named best Spanish chef getting the highest score in the directory of best Spanish cuisine 2002, by Rafael García Santos.

In 2004, his restaurant Lasarte is in the top six European restaurants of the "Guida delle Guide", the Italian magazine "Panorama", calculated according to average scores of the best European guidelines, such as "Michelin" "AA", "Gault & Millau", "Botín Gourmand", "Pudlo", and "Best of gastronomy", obtaining 98.3 points out of 100. Among the many awards won in the last decade, in November 2005 is chosen as one of the two best European chefs in the Miljonair Culinary Award, alongside French chef Michel Bras. The votes were made only by those with "3 Michelin stars."

His cuisine is committed to art and creativity without forgetting his link to the past. In short, we face one of the greatest chefs of world cuisine.
